Papua New Guinea is a county of amazing people and incredible geography. All too often though, the rugged beauty of PNG's landscape clashes with the basic needs of the people who live there.
Provision of basic services that most people take for granted can become very difficult without the right infrastructure and support network in place. Goddard and Tyne's involvement seeks to improve the quality of lives by making access to much needed medical facilities and basic community supplies possible, especially for people in regional and remote areas of PNG.
Why is PNG so important to Australia?
PNG, our closest neighbour, has been a significant partner in Australian history and PNG's people have helped shape our part of the world in that time. Today, PNG is one of Australia's most important trade partners. At this time however, PNG needs our assistance to help the country meet the demands of the modern world. Given our connection over the last 100 years we have a responsibility to help these amazing people as they make the most of their amazing country.
What can we do to help PNG?
We need to stay involved and to meet the issues head on where they are affecting PNG's people the most. Our latest projects are targeting the regional and rural areas of the country. Our work is about developing practical solutions now for every day issues affecting real people. Some of our projects will be simple and quick to implement while others will be complex and require ongoing effort. Whilst we are working closely with the PNG government, who are very supportive of our efforts, we need your help to make these programs successful.
Please consider any of the ways shown here to lend your support.

Some of the major issues facing PNG and which Goddard & Tyne are addressing
Maternal Health
and Care
Right now PNG has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. The chance of a mother dying in PNG at child birth is more than 90 times higher than for Australian mothers.
Sustainable
Clean Water
Access to clean water is something many people living in remote areas of PNG can't take for granted. Something as simple as a metal bucket to aid in the collection of sustainable quantities of water.
Engineering Skills Development
Machinery can play a significant role in helping remote communities in PNG to improve their lives. By educating locals in basic engineering principals and mechanical techniques equipment can be maintained and serviced.
